You ever play one of those games where the jank is the whole point? Like finding an old, scratched up disc of a forgotten PS2 title and somehow it just hits different. Hanna's story is that. The AI art is... well, it's AI art. Sometimes her hands look like a melted candle and her face shifts ethnicity between scenes. But weirdly, it works. It feels like a fever dream memory of a game you can't quite place.
The whole thing is about this refugee girl trying to build a life, and the sex stuff just sort of leaks in through the cracks. There's this one scene where she's changing in her cramped little room and the landlord "accidentally" walks in. The dialogue is so stilted, so wonderfully awkward. "Oh. I am sorry. I did not see you are... without clothes." And Hanna just stands there, frozen, nipples hard because the window's broken and it's cold. The voyeurism tag is earned, man. It's not some slick porn setup. It feels grimy and real, like you're peeking through a hole in the wall yourself. The corruption is slow too, not some instant slut button. She starts doing little things for extra cash, a handjob here, letting a guy watch her shower there. The cheating angle comes in when she gets a boyfriend who's actually nice, some local dude trying to help, and you're just waiting for the other shoe to drop. The romance is surprisingly sweet in parts, which makes the betrayal sting more. I wish the teasing scenes lasted longer, they always cut away right when things get interesting.
The game's a mess, honestly. The translation is broken in that perfect, unintentionally poetic way. Choices feel like they matter but I'm pretty sure they don't. The whole thing is like a grimy little secret you'd find on a forgotten corner of Newgrounds back in the day. It's not polished, it's not balanced, and half the CGs look like a robot having a stroke. But I kept clicking. Kept wanting to see Hanna get her happy ending, even if it meant watching her get railed by her boss in a supply closet first.
