The elf queen sends you west with your battle buddy Idril and honestly the whole thing feels like a setup for disaster. Not the lizard monsters. Those are whatever. I mean the tension between Galathor and his assistant. You know from the first campfire scene that something's gonna crack. She's polishing her blade, he's pretending to study maps, and the dialogue keeps doing this thing where it dances around what they both want. The game doesn't even try to hide it. Every conversation loops back to how close they're standing or how her hair catches the torchlight.
The art style caught me off guard. It's rough in places, like someone drew the character sprites on a Tuesday and never went back to fix the linework. But the expressions. Idril has this look she gives when Galathor says something stupidly noble about duty over desire. Half annoyed, half something else. You've seen that look before. Maybe on someone who wanted you to shut up and just. The sex scenes when they finally happen are explicit as hell but the buildup matters more. There's this moment where she's wounded and he's tending to her and his hands are shaking and you're clicking through dialogue options that all feel wrong because what he wants to say isn't on the list. That's the game. Wanting things that aren't on the list.
Wish the lizard monster plot mattered more but it's basically wallpaper. The queen shows up, gives orders, disappears. Whatever. The real game is watching two competent warriors be absolute disasters at feelings. Like that meme where the guy is holding hands with a girl and thinking about sword techniques. That's Galathor for three chapters straight. The visual novel format works because you're stuck in his head while he rationalizes every boner as a tactical concern. Idril's perspective pops in sometimes and she's just as bad. Two idiots, one tent, zero communication skills. Dare to play it alone or invite company? Actually don't invite anyone. This one's for when you need to remember that even elf warriors with perfect abs can't figure out how to say "I want you" without a near death experience first.
