You know what gets me about these games. The little loading icon in the corner that never quite spins right. Confined with Goddesses has that. A tiny wheel with a wobble, like it was drawn by someone who just learned what a circle is. And I stared at it for maybe twenty seconds while the next scene loaded, thinking about how my first ever hentai game back in the day had a similar janky feel. The one I hid in a folder named "homework" on the family computer. That one also had a protagonist who was supposed to be torn about cheating but honestly seemed more worried about his schedule than his morals.

The goddess thing here is weird because they're not really goddesses in any meaningful way. They're just four very available women with vaguely fantasy themed names and a shared inability to wear clothes that fit. One of them, I think her name was something flowery, has this animation loop where she stretches and her chest does that thing. You know the thing. Where physics takes a holiday. And I watched it loop four times before realizing I was supposed to click something. The game doesn't rush you. That's nice actually. Too many of these things now are all quick time events and branching paths that punish you for not treating it like a spreadsheet. This one just... sits there. Letting you marinate in the guilt of the premise.

The girlfriend character barely exists. She's a name and a vague threat of discovery. The real meat, figuratively and literally, is in the "will he won't he" with the four others. There's a scene with the red haired one in what I think is supposed to be a temple but looks more like someone's apartment with columns photoshopped in. The dialogue choice came up and I picked the obviously bad option because of course I did. The text that followed was surprisingly blunt. Not poetic. Not trying to be literature. Just "and then he did the thing with her and she made sounds." Sometimes that's enough. Sometimes you don't need the thesaurus out for a wank. Though I do wish the sound effects weren't just two clips on shuffle. The same moan played three times in a row and I started counting. That's not sexy. That's a bug report waiting to happen.
