You know what’s refreshing? A game that doesn’t pretend it’s a fucking visual novel with eighty hours of “deep lore” about slime economies. ShortStack, despite the name, knows exactly what it is. Boot it up and you’ve got a menu of petite monster girls, all tits and impish grins, ready to get folded into positions that’d make a yoga instructor weep.

Pick your poison. The demon girl has that Halloween vibe with little horns and a tail that flicks like an annoyed cat when you, well, you know. Positioning is everything here. One moment you’ve got her bent over a spectral altar, the next she’s riding with an expression that screams “I’m tolerating this for the soul contract.” The animations loop a bit stiffly, I wish the groping felt more reactive instead of just cyclic. Tapping around her chest during the vaginal scene brings out a half-hearted jiggle that lacks the heft you’d expect from the tag promises.

The oral section is probably the highlight, purely because of the eye contact. That specific “I’m going to drain you” look that’s become a staple in monster girl simulators. The demo status hurts it though. There’s no real hook beyond the immediate.. friction. And why is there no sound? A squelch or a tiny demonic moan would do so much heavy lifting here. Feels like downloading a mobile game that auto-gens the screenshots to look filthier than the actual loop you get stuck in. Still, for a quick, unapologetic fuck with a fantasy twist, it’s less messy than trying to find a working link for something like Monster Girl Island.

The voice acting in this demo is a weird mix. Some of the succubus lines have this breathy quality that actually works, like she's whispering right into your ear while the hellfire crackles in the background. Then the demon lord shows up and sounds like he's reading a grocery list through a tin can. I kept replaying the Lust realm intro just to hear that one moan she does when the portal opens. It's not perfect but it's got that raw, unpolished charm you don't get from big budget stuff.

The map itself is basically a hub with nine portals, each one unlocking a short sex scene. You click around, find the glowing spots, and get a little cutscene. The Lust realm is the obvious highlight, lots of tentacle action and some genuinely nasty dialogue if you're into that. The Gluttony one felt rushed though, like they ran out of ideas and just slapped some slime sounds over a generic blowjob animation. And the Wrath realm? The sound effects are so loud they clip. I had to turn my volume down twice.

What's weird is how much time I spent just staring at the map. The hell aesthetic is done well, all reds and blacks with these little animated flames. But then you click on a realm and the transition is just a fade to black. No buildup, no sound cue. It's like they forgot to add the connective tissue. The demo is free so I can't complain too much, but the main game better have more than just these intro scenes. Right now it feels like a teaser for a teaser. Still, that Lust scene lives rent free in my head.
