Fucking Max Caulfield’s photography teacher with mind control powers. That’s the pitch and honestly it’s as unhinged as it sounds. The 3DCG models look like someone ripped them straight from a Source Filmmaker fever dream, all stiff joints and dead eyes that somehow make the whole thing funnier. You’re Mark Jefferson, that creepy teacher from Life is Strange, except now you’ve got some weird supernatural ability to rewrite what people want. The game doesn’t even try to hide what it is, just throws you into Blackwell Academy with a corruption system that feels like someone modded a dating sim into a psychological horror.
The writing is pure shitpost energy. One minute you’re manipulating a student into a BDSM scene, the next you’re unlocking lesbian content between characters who definitely didn’t sign up for this timeline. The detective stuff shows up sometimes, I think there’s supposed to be a plot about your powers or whatever but who cares when you can just mind control the entire female cast into increasingly absurd situations. The handjob scenes are animated like a flipbook made by someone who’s only seen human movement described in text. It’s glorious.
Sound design is basically nonexistent except for some stock moans that loop so badly you’ll think your browser is having a stroke. The teacher/student dynamic is played completely straight which makes it somehow more uncomfortable than if they’d leaned into the parody angle. Female domination routes pop up randomly, anal scenes unlock without warning, and the whole thing has this janky charm like browsing Newgrounds in 2006. Wish the oral sex animations didn’t look like two mannequins clipping through each other but that’s never getting fixed. The corruption mechanics are basically just clicking choices until numbers go up, which is either lazy or genius depending on how horny you are. Max isn’t even the main focus half the time, the game just kind of forgets about her while you’re busy turning the school into your personal mind control sandbox. Strange Nights knows exactly what it is and refuses to apologize.
