oh god this is the one where the whole summer invite turns into a mess the second you get there. not the fun kind of mess either. like, you think you're getting palm trees and maybe some low key flirting with your bestie but instead someone probably dies or something equally dramatic and suddenly you're playing detective while surrounded by actors with abs and secrets. the corruption tag is doing a lot of heavy lifting here and not always in ways that feel earned. some of these hollywood types are so cartoonishly evil you'd think they wandered in from a different, dumber game.

the cg scenes though. hoo boy. when the game actually commits to a lewd moment it goes all in, that one producer character with the perpetually unbuttoned shirt. you know the type. the art style for the 2dcg is weirdly inconsistent, sometimes a character looks like they were traced from a magazine and other times their face is just... melting? but in the sex scenes the anatomy suddenly becomes very precise which i guess is a choice. the writing during the romantic paths has this earnest, almost clumsy quality like a fan translation of a bl manga from 2005. you'll be reading some genuinely sweet coming out dialogue and then a line will hit like "his eyes were blue as the ocean of my desire" and you just have to put your phone down.

multiple endings yeah but they're all kind of variations on "you trusted the wrong twink" or "you trusted the right twink but he's still a mess." there's a director guy who's clearly meant to be the hard mode romance and his route is just him negging you for three hours until you either break him or he breaks you. i wish the investigation mechanic actually mattered more, half the time you just click around until someone takes their shirt off and then the plot remembers it exists again. still, that one scene at the pool party with the two rival celebrities? the tension there, the way the dialogue actually slows down and lets things simmer. more of that please. less of whatever the hell the "dark secrets" were supposed to be because honestly by the end i was just skipping text to get to the next corruption scene and i'm not proud of that but here we are.
