Mateo's got this thing where he stares at a wall for like five minutes after killing three guys, and I'm sitting there thinking, yeah, that's the post-nut clarity of violence right there. New Antioch doesn't pretend it's not a mess. The apocalypse happened so long ago nobody even remembers what the old world was called, just that it left behind weird underground vaults full of horny monsters and broken robots that still work somehow. You're this enforcer dude, big scary guy for a mining province, and the whole setup is basically "go fuck up the capital city because they screwed us over." Simple. Then it gets weird.

The monster fucking though. What is that about. There's this one dungeon with tentacle things that are apparently leftovers from some ancient bio-weapon program, and the game treats it like a horror segment but also you can just... let it happen? The dystopian setting means nobody's judging you for your life choices because everyone's too busy dying of the reproductive crisis or whatever. I wish the harem management had more actual management, it's basically just collecting women like pokemon except they all live in your head rent free. The romance paths are surprisingly sweet sometimes, then you remember you're also graphically murdering people in between dates. The teasing dialogue options are where the writing actually shines, there's this one scene with a fantasy race girl who's technically a monster but looks mostly human, and the back and forth before the oral sex is genuinely funny. She asks if you're scared and Mateo just deadpans "of your teeth, maybe." The interracial stuff is there but the game doesn't make a big deal about it, which is somehow weirder than if they did. The male domination fantasy is so thick you could cut it with one of those ancient tech blades they keep finding in the ruins. The masturbation scenes are oddly clinical, like the character is just performing maintenance on himself.
