This game. I keep the save file right before the audit scene just to watch it again. That woman from the main office comes in with her clipboard and her tight skirt and this look on her face like she already owns everything in the building including you. The way the AI drew her leaning over the desk. Something about the shadows under her collarbone. I spent maybe twenty minutes just clicking through dialogue options trying to make her respect me but the writing is smarter than that. She has this line about how even my defiance is just another metric she can measure and then the screen does this subtle fade effect and you realize you lost that encounter three choices ago.
The factory setting is mostly grey corridors and flickering lights which honestly gets old fast. There's a vending machine in the break room that I clicked on like six times thinking it would do something. It doesn't. But the character portraits have this weird quality like someone painted them from memory after a bad dream. The male protagonist looks exhausted in a way that feels too real. When the female coworker character starts opening up about her situation the game gives you these multiple choice responses and I picked the protective one obviously because I thought that's what you're supposed to do. Then the audit happened and everything went wrong and I had to replay the whole thing from the save point I mentioned earlier.
The domination themes aren't subtle. Your boss calls you into his office and the power dynamic shifts so fast you can feel it in your chest. There's this one ending where you basically become part of the machine you hated and the sex scene that triggers is uncomfortable in exactly the way it should be. The AI art sometimes gives people extra fingers but honestly that almost adds to the dystopian vibe. Four endings total and I still haven't seen the one where you supposedly protect that fragile light the description talks about. Maybe I'm playing it wrong. The work theme runs through everything like a stain. Even the intimate moments feel like transactions. Not sure if that's intentional or just how these games work.
