Bunker 21 is a blackjack game, except the dealer is some blonde soldier who looks like she got lost on the way to a low budget photoshoot and the payout is her clothes. The whole thing runs on this weird energy where the card table is just a prop. I spent way too long fixating on her collar. It’s the first thing that goes, that stiff military collar, and the animation for it is basically a slideshow but the sound effect is this cheap whip crack that made me snort beer through my nose the first time. The rules are loose. Push on 17, she keeps the uniform. Get 21 and a piece of it vanishes. The dealer AI is dumber than a bag of hammers, hitting on 19 sometimes, which is either a bug or she just really wants to lose the boots. I’m not complaining.

The model is a real person, or at least a collection of photos of one, and the whole aesthetic is this uncanny valley where a JPEG of a stern woman’s face is pasted onto a body that strips in about six frames. It’s not smooth. It’s not even good, technically. But there’s a charm to it, like finding a crusty old Flash game on a forgotten corner of Newgrounds. The lesbian tag is there if you squint, mostly just her giving the camera a look that says she’s judging your life choices while her bra phases out of existence. The arcade loop is tight. Lose all your chips, she gets dressed again in a snap and you’re back to zero. Win it all, she’s down to dog tags and a smirk. The uniform fetish is the whole point, really. That stiff fabric, the way the belt comes off with a clink. I just wish the strip sequence was random. It’s always collar, belt, jacket, in that order. Every single time. Knowing exactly what’s coming next kills the vibe a little. You start playing the cards and not the woman, and that’s when the magic of a stupid, horny blackjack game evaporates. The sound design is all stock effects and a loop of what I think is supposed to be a bunker generator humming, but it sounds more like my old fridge.
