I keep clicking through this Alternate Existence thing and I don't know what I'm looking for. Maybe a mom. Maybe just someone who won't ship me off to another house. The whole setup is this guy with no past, bounced around by some older woman who couldn't be bothered, then some mystery man shows up and suddenly you're in a new life. The CG hentai scenes hit different when you're lonely, you know? Those big tits on the milf character, the way she looks at you like she knows something you don't. It's not just tits though. There's this weight behind every conversation, like the stranger who pulled you out of your old life might be worse than the nothing you had before.

The visual novel format works for this kind of story. You click, you read, you get these gorgeous full screen illustrations that make you forget you're sitting in a dark room at midnight with your hand down your pants. The mystery tag is doing heavy lifting here. Who are these people? Why did they pick you? The milf character, she's got this warmth that feels fake but you want it to be real so bad. I've done routes where I trust her completely and routes where I call her out, and the sex scenes change based on that. The first time she undresses, the CG is this slow reveal, her breasts spilling out while she watches your reaction. The artist knew what they were doing with the lighting on her skin.

I wish there was more branching though. Sometimes the choices feel like they lead to the same place, just with different dialogue. Like, let me actually fuck up my life or fix it. Don't just tease me with consequences. Also the sound design is nonexistent, which is weird for a game that's trying to build atmosphere. Some ambient noise, maybe a heartbeat during the intense scenes, would make the stranger encounters actually tense instead of just... clicking through text. The milf route has this one scene where she's on top, her tits bouncing, and the CG is perfect but it's dead silent. Kills the mood a bit. Still, I finished it twice. Not sure if that says more about the game or about me.
