The web swinging is actually pretty good. Not amazing, but there's this weird floaty momentum that feels right, especially when you're just dicking around the city instead of doing missions. I spent way too long just climbing the tallest building I could find and jumping off, seeing how far the physics would let me go before the animation reset. The game doesn't punish you for it, which is nice.

Peni shows up early, and that's where things get... specific. The robot connection isn't just visual, the tentacle rigging on her mech suit actually has its own physics system separate from the main character animations. You can see the individual segments flex and curl independently when they grab onto Spidey, which is a detail most of these games skip entirely. The slave state triggers after a certain damage threshold, and the position variety is limited but the ones that are there loop smoothly. The webbing gets used in ways that would make the comics code authority have a stroke. There's this one corner pin against a rooftop AC unit where the camera gets stuck if you trigger it from the wrong angle, had to restart the whole scene twice.

The audio mixing is all over the place. Some voice clips are way louder than others, and the wet sounds cut out randomly during the longer sequences. The robot servos whine during the tentacle scenes which is a nice touch but it loops so aggressively it starts sounding like a busted printer after about thirty seconds. The character models look decent up close but the LOD on Peni's mech is aggressive, things get real polygonal if you're not right up in there. Still, for a browser game that's clearly made by one person with a very specific vision, the fact that it even has working web physics and a damage system at all is kind of impressive. Just wish the gallery unlocked automatically instead of making you replay the whole thing to see the variants.
