You know what's funny about Magnum PI parodies. The source material already had this weird sexual tension baked in, all those lingering shots of Tom Selleck's mustache and Hawaiian shirts. This game just cranks that subtext to eleven and then breaks the knob off.

Charlie shows up at her uncle Higgins' estate and within minutes she's got a magnum of her own to handle. The art style is deliberately rough, almost like someone sketched it during a boring meeting and then thought yeah, this works. It kinda does. There's something refreshing about a game that doesn't pretend to be polished, that just throws big tits and bigger toys at you without apology. The detective angle is barely there, more of a loose framework for getting Charlie into increasingly absurd situations. I kept waiting for some actual investigating to happen but honestly, the game seems to forget about that part entirely around the time the first massive dildo appears.

The humor lands somewhere between genuinely funny and so stupid it circles back to funny again. There's this one scene with Charlie trying to act professional while clearly distracted by something enormous just off screen. I laughed. Then I felt weird about laughing. The writing has that particular flavor of someone whose first language might not be English but who absolutely knows what they're doing with innuendo. Some dialogue reads like it was translated through three different languages and then back, which somehow makes it better. I wish the toy variety was more creative though. After the third or fourth scene you start recognizing the same props, just positioned differently. A beach episode would've been perfect for this, given the Hawaii connection. But we don't always get what we want.
